10U Slowpitch (3rd and 4th Graders)

Commitment: 1 practice, 1 batting cage and 2-3 games each week (including occasional doubleheaders)

Season: April through end of June

MGSA's in-house league for 3rd and 4th graders is 10U Slowpitch. 

In this league, there is more emphasis on advanced throwing, hitting and fielding skills, as well as playing in-game situations. Coaches may begin the season pitching to players, with plans to switch to kid pitch after 1-2 weeks. This direction will come from the MGSA Slowpitch Director. EVERY player should work on pitching at every practice and at home. You can never have enough pitchers! Teams are put together primarily based on school and friend requests.

The 10U Slowpitch league plays games on Wednesday nights and Saturday mornings/early afternoons at Legacy Fields at Minnetonka High School and Optimist Field in Glen Lake.

Players receive a jersey shirt. Players must provide their own batting helmet (with mask), fielding mask and softball mitt.  Gym shoes are fine, plastic cleats are optional. Fielding masks for infielders are required.

We also organize a competitive season-end tournament, which includes MGSA and Glen Lake teams.
