Rainout Information

Weather and field conditions can change quickly, both worsening and improving.  MGSA will attempt to play all scheduled games.  Families should expect some uncertainty with our region's weather conditions because conditions can change quickly.

Sometimes, Legacy Fields/Bennett Park are closed by the school district/BFP due to field conditions, although this is rare.  Sometimes, MGSA/BFP cancels games early in a day due to forecasted continued rain throughout a day.  Many times games are cancelled at the field by the umpires and/or coaches.  Sometimes, games early in they day may be cancelled but games later in the same day will be played.  When in doubt about the status of a game, go to the field for instructions.

Fastpitch Only:  Minnetonka coaches should communicate with opponent coaches during a day when weather is questionable and possibly cancel their Fastpitch double headers early in the day.  Minnetonka fastpitch coaches must communicate this decision to the FP Director and FP Umpire Coordinator immediately.

MGSA will attempt to use direct communications to families using the website, when possible.  Families are encouraged to keep their personal contact information up-to-date at www.TonkaSoftball.org, then click Edit My Account and keep your home phone, cell phone, text carrier and email address current at all times.

Tball, Machine Pitch and Slowpitch games scheduled at Legacy Fields and Optimist Field:  If games are cancelled due to weather conditions, you will receive an email from Slowpitch Director and games will be cancelled/rescheduled on the website.

Games scheduled at Bennett Family Park (Tball and Machine Pitch Only):  If MGSA is informed that Bennett Family Park is closed, we will cancel/reschedule the games on the website and the Slowpitch Director will send emails to players/families.  Otherwise, teams should report to the park and a game time decision will be made.

Slowpitch games scheduled at Guilliam Fields:  The City of Minnetonka Park and Rec hotline is (952) 988-8450.  The City of Minnetonka controls those fields and determines field playability independently of MGSA or Bennett Park.
